Rete Testis (LP)

Most seminiferous tubules are in the form of loops, both ends of which join the rete testis. The rete testis is a system of irregular channels located in the connective tissue of the mediastinum testis. It is lined by cubical or squamous epithelium. Testicular fluid secreted by the Sertoli cells washes sperm from the seminiferous tubules into the rete testis and efferent ductules towards the epididymis.

In effect, the rete is simply a collecting system linking the seminiferous tubules with the efferent tubules.
